Reflection/Rest

Today's challenge;

Take today day off, catch up on a challenge you missed and/or take this opportunity to review and reflect your successes this week.

This is a great opportunity to review the concepts that you explored this week and each challenge that you successfully completed. You also have a growing resource library to check out through the suggested readings in the "Deep Dives".

To mark this second milestone, here is a little extra food for thought. Share this story with others.

This is a traditional Native American tale attributed to the Cherokee that I would like to share. Enjoy!

The Parable of the Two Wolves

One evening, an old Cherokee grandfather sat with his grandson by the fire. The boy had been troubled all day—angry at a friend who had betrayed him, frustrated with himself for losing his temper, and confused by the storm of emotions inside him.

Sensing the boy’s unrest, the grandfather spoke softly.

“A fight is going on inside me,” he said. “It is a terrible fight between two wolves.”

The boy looked up, curious.

“One wolf is evil—he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

“The other wolf is good—he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandfather paused, letting the words settle in the quiet crackle of the fire.

“The same fight is going on inside you—and inside every person too.”

The boy thought for a moment, then asked, “Which wolf will win?”

The old man smiled gently and replied,“The one you feed.”

Congratulations on completing your second week of your journey. Keep going!

Milestone Marker:

Reflect on this past week. What is at least one positive thing you learned or

experienced as a result of these daily challenges?
